This year the Australian Embassy in Bangkok made some grant funding available to trusted partners to support immediate humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities as a result of the severe impact of the COVID pandemic and lockdown measures.

The Consulate visited the Baan Dek Foundation in Chiang Mai, a trusted partner who received a funding grant for their work in providing assistance to children of migrant worker camp communities in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
During our visit we received a briefing on the Foundation & current emergency relief work. We also visited two local migrant camps with the Baan Dek team to donate support packages (food supplies & hygiene products). With so many people negatively impacted by the effects of COVID it was good to see the children still smiling and the support for these often-forgotten community families.
